Helen Chadwick A Singing Creative 17-19 June 2022
This is the second outing of the unique and inspiring A Singing Creative singing workshop that was so well received last summer.
It provides another opportunity for singers who love Helen’s songs and performances to be a part of the creative process from the inside.
Helen loves to do some of her composition work with singers in person rather than alone at the piano, so as to try out ideas and see how to develop them within a live experience – like being in rehearsal. Sometimes that is an evening at her house, sometimes weeks with actors, this time it’s this weekend at Hill Cottage.
Helen will arrive with new song ideas and fragments to explore which we will develop over the weekend. Our sessions will be playful and concentrated, light-hearted and heartfelt, personal and universal, simple and patterned. All this will happen within the beautiful and welcoming setting of Hill Cottage where there will be time for walks and being in nature, and where we are supported by tasty nourishing food.
There is no need to read music, only to hold a part on your own and sing in tune. We will sometimes use scores as guides.
For this unique and rich experience to work, we ask that you are able to commit to getting to Hill Cottage Retreat Centre by 5.00 pm on Friday until Sunday at 4.00 pm.
Helen’s songs are uplifting with beautiful harmonies and inspiring lyrics. She loves to set great poetry, and her albums and performances are full of these songs. Her workshops are focused and fun, challenging without pressure, joyful and committed, empowering and relaxed.
She has been leading choirs and singing workshops for over 30 years and has written around 400 songs for theatre, concerts, community choirs and song theatre.
