Helen Porter -Exploring Your Voice
1-3 April 2022

We are delighted to welcome the multi-talented Helen Porter back to Hill Cottage after a hugely successful weekend here in October 2021.

This retreat is for individual singers who want to focus on their own voices. It is not aimed at choir leaders as a teacher training weekend. It will be of value to any singer who would enjoy embracing a variety of styles of music, including classical, musical theatre, jazz and folk, in order to more fully explore the potential that lies behind every voice.

Each genre requires a differing approach to vocal technique. You will learn how to find voices you never knew you had, sing in genres you perhaps never thought you would, and inhabit every voice from within.

The weekend is suitable for reasonably confident singers who would like to further explore their potential. Whilst working mainly as an ensemble, there will also be some opportunity for solo singing, for those who would like it. If you would like to take the learning opportunity of solo singing in a mini-masterclass please come with a song you know by heart and sheet music for accompaniment  if you have it.
